"What do you get when you take a Cuban guitarist and songwriter inspired by an Irish punk band and drop him in Cincinnati? It sounds like the opening to a joke, but The Edge were the real deal. For years, Victor Garcia-Rivera and friends performed with wit, energy, and passion. This was the 1980's, when punk was not a ticket to MTV success and dates with movie stars. (Though their "Just An Illusion" video did in fact get two and a half of MTV's 120 minutes once). While lots of bands play for ego or libido gratification, The Edge played because Victor had music inside of him that he simply had to get out. That energy and joy came through in every performance. The Edge rocked my socks off on a regular basis in the 1980's. I'm glad they're back."
